The face of AfricaIs MSA an NGO or a donor organisation?
MSA is a not-for-profit private company limited by guarantee. MSA is not a donor but administers funds for some donors.

What specifically does MSA do?
MSA is in the business of organization development assisting African institutions and organizations engaged in health development to increase their effectiveness and impact, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS organizations.

MSA is dedicated to institutional, organizational and management capacity building for health development through consultancy, training and technical assistance, data management, and conference management.

Does MSA's operations cover the whole of Africa?
MSA's operations are focused on Sub-Saharan Africa. However, we are positioned to take up contracts, representation and other assignments covering the broader Africa region.

Where is MSA based?
The international headquarters of MSA is located in London, UK with Country Branch Offices in Africa. The Nigeria Office is based in Abuja. Other offices are located in Accra (Ghana) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). MSA seeks to expand to other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Francophone countries.

Why is MSA headquartered in London when its focus is on sub-Saharan Africa?
The MSA headquarters in London is for marketing and resource mobilization purposes. The London Office also provides technical and management support including quality control and quality assurance to MSA Country Branches.

Why is MSA focused only on health when there are other critical developmental issues affecting sub-Saharan Africa?
Health is central to human survival. We focus on health to ensure the survival and the physical and mental well-being of the human resources that are critical to development in sub-Saharan Africa. Other organisations focus on poverty and economic issues for development.

How is MSA funded?
MSA is funded from project grants from donors as well as contracts, consultancy and training fees.

Who does MSA work with?
Our network includes donors (who provide grants) our clients (who contract our services) and other partners and collaborating international and local Charities, NGOs, CBOs, government agencies and private sector organisations with whom we collaborate to implement activities.

How does MSA identify those they work with?
Some project grants from some donors come with identified organisations whom MSA would be required to work with. Other organisations come as clients or partners through the marketing and publicity of our services.

What makes MSA different from other Capacity Development Organizations?
MSA is an indigenous non-governmental African social enterprise committed to institutional capacity building and organization development for health. MSA is not a project or program but a not-for profit private company with an all time commitment to African development.

Does MSA charge for its services?
To cover its costs and generate funancing for its organizational growth and development, MSA charges modest fees for contracts, consultancies and training services, based on its policy of full cost-recovery.
