MSA is proud to share twelve categories of publications as presented below. Many of the publications come in the form of reports or other specific products arising from work with clients. While some of the clients welcome unrestricted access to the reports and products, others do not. In such cases, interested persons are advised to contact the clients to obtain the report.

Research and Evaluation

The first evaluation conducted by MSA was with Action Health Incorporated in Lagos in November 2000. The first research-type activity was a survey on the use of strategic planning by SRH organizations in sub-Saharan Africa, in 2000-2001. Since then, many more evaluations and one more survey have been carried out.

Need Assessment and Situation Analysis

Need assessment and situation analysis (NASA) have been integral components of the work of MSA. In many instances, they are done as part of organization assessments (institutional appraisals) but at other times they are carried out as a separate activity.

Newsletters

The MSA newsletter started as a donor-specific (Packard Foundation), monthly report on activities of the Reproductive Health Program Support Services (RHPSS) Project in January 2002. From April of that year, Highlights became quarterly and in October 2003, it became an MSA organization-wide publication under the new title 'MSA Quarterly Highlights'. To date (June 2008) 12 editions of Highlights have been produced and distributed.

SRH & Rights and HIV/AIDS Media Highlights

Produced in MSA Nigeria Media Highlights is a forthnighly compilation of news stroies and features gleaned from local and the international media (newspapers, journals, the Internet, and other sources). The thematic areas include family planning/reproductive health, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, gender and women in development, HIV/AIDS, and population and development.

Directories

The main directory published to date is one which deals with SRH organizations in Nigeria. It presents entries (name, technical areas of work, contact persons, etc) according to states, geo-political zones, and type of organization (donor, implementer governmental and otherwise, and international support organizations.
